I'm not going to lie to you, it was a rough week for me. I usually let myself wake up with the kids and then start my day, but every day this week I've been getting up an hour before the kids "usual" wake-up time, putting on my workout gear, lacing up my shoes and getting in my workout. I'll even admit that there were couple of mornings that I hit the snooze button a few too many times. I really need to focus on getting to bed at the proper hour. I'm a night-owl by nature so it's difficult for me to get to bed early. I think this needs to be my goal for next week.
The first four days I was SORE! I took Ibuprofen morning and night to help ease some of the muscle pain from using muscles that I probably haven't used in quite some time, and I iced when I was able to put my feet up for a minute or two. Of course these were also the days where my 35lb Monkey decided to become clingy and wanted me to carry him everywhere - I swear that children have a sixth sense about these things just to drive you mad! Days five and six I don't think that I moved quite as fast as I could have, but still hung it out through the whole workout.
Want to see some numbers?? ;)
Day 1: "Fit Test" 27 minutes, 258 calories
Day 2: "Polymetric Cardio Circuit" 43 minutes, 448 calories
Day 3: "Cardio Power & Resistance" 42 minutes, 408 calories
Day 4: "Cardio Recovery" 34 minutes, 221 calories
Day 5: "Pure Cardio" 37 minutes, 337 calories
Day 6: "Polymetric Cardio Circuit" 44 minutes, 394 calories (not as high as day 2 because I had to stop and start 3 times because Monkey woke up a bit early and needed some attention)
So, totals for the week were 227 minutes and 2073 calories! That's 227 minutes more exercise in one week than I've been doing the last 5 years or so and I burned over a full days worth of calories!! To burn off a pound of fat is 3500 calories, so in exercise alone this week I burned just over a half a pound of fat. Now, combine this with watching what I eat and adding Isagenix to my diet...I'm excited to see what my results are on Monday morning. That being said, I don't want to focus just on my weight. As I'm exercising I know that I'm adding precious muscle to my body which weighs more than fat. So, I'm also interested to see how my body measurements have changed as well.
Tomorrow is my rest day! Yippee! No getting up early for a workout. But I will be doing an Isagenix Cleanse Day to start getting rid of toxins that have built up in my system the past few years. I remember doing my cleanse days last summer and the first ones were the hardest. It's harder when you have to cook for a family and you are restricted to a liquid diet for a day or two. After a few weeks of one Cleanse Day a week I will start adding one cleanse drink to my diet everyday.
To sum up my first week: it was hard, but I'm so proud of myself for sticking with it everyday and accomplishing what I set out to do this week.
Next weeks goals:
1. Continue doing my Insanity
2. Continue adding Isagenix into my diet.
3. Get to bed at a decent hour. For me, that needs to be 10pm the latest.
Don't forget...baby steps! I believe (now) that it's the only way to do things. I really want to try and change everything all at once, but that will just lead to my ultimate failure. I'm doing it different this time...a little at a time.
What are your baby steps this week?
